I finished this beret watching a particularly disturbing CSI last night (the transexual murder one). I just can't work out if I like it or not. LOVE the colour. Not sure about the shape. This angle looks relatively normal.
On the other hand from this angle my head looks decidedly cone-like. Not the Parisian chic I was aiming for. But I'm going to wear it anyway as its bloody cold outside right now! We are finally having winter weather with some oomph to it. I'll be happy to go back to the balmy 10 degrees, blue skies anytime. Although it is good to have an excuse to get those (slightly odd shaped) woolens out there...
Pattern: Beret from Last Minute Knitted Gifts.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca & Silk (50% alpaca, 50% silk) - current favourite yarn
Needles: 3mm circulars (magic loop method) - pattern called for 3.5mm - might explain the cone effect now I think about it.

I think it looks great! Beautiful colour too. Now get on with the christmas presents so you can finish the cardigan - or will it be the socks that win out...
