I took these photos last year on a light sunny day. I wish it was always this tidy as this 'styled' version here.
The day we moved into the house - in fact about 2 hours after we moved in - I was slapping litres of white paint around the bedroom walls. Like a woman possessed. New carpet followed a couple of days later. It was some time before I made the curtains. I spent quite a few weeks lurking and pouncing on ebay for this lucious Romo Simonii fabric.
The only thing left to do is replace the net curtains with some plain voille I bought over a year ago to attempt a Philippe Stark hotel style look. After the upcoming major renos I think the curtains will be the only things to stay. The tiled fireplace, matching tiled cieling and dusty lampshade will go go go. I'm not sure whether we should replace the new windows with traditional sash windows. They're functional and double glazed but don't suit the age of the house at all.

Wow, was that a velour carpet? The sort of thing that makes your hair crackle as you walk across it... Can't wait to see how the conversion goes. (BTW does your council do grants for replacing double glazing? Some do...)
